Your vote is your voice in Israel.
FVotingopens March 10 and ends May 4 …
All Jewish adults 18+ (by June 30, 2025) who live permanently in the U.S. and didn’t vote in the last Knesset election are eligible to vote.
Voting is a simple online process that takes five minutes and five dollars. Any American Jew (by self-identification, while not identifying as a member of another religion) over 18 can vote for MERCAZ USA in elections to the World Zionist Congress. The voting period begins on March 10th, and no preregistration or organizational membership of any kind beforehand is required. The five dollars is a small administrative fee covering the cost of administering or the election, which also prevents voter fraud as each payment method can only vote a limited number of times.

Jewish Learning Opportunities with Rabbi Re'em
Intermediate Prayer book Hebrew (Thursdays, 8:00-8:30 p.m., Beginning Dec. 26)
The course is designed for those with a basic reading knowledge of Hebrew. It is meant to help build the Hebrew vocabulary that appears in the prayer book. It is perfect for increasing your knowledge of classical Hebrew while enriching one’s contemporary Hebrew base.
Introduction to Talmud (Thursdays, 7:00-7:50 p.m., Beginning Dec. 26)
What is the Talmud? Through introduction to Talmud study, we will learn the logic, argumentation, and theology of the Talmud through English translation. The text we will learn is the first volume of the Talmud, known as the Tractate of Berachot.
There are many ways to link Purim and Pesach. Hopefully, worrying about the cooking and cleaning for Pesach isn’t the overriding concern! The medieval commentator, Rashi, noticed a connection between the two holidays helping us focus on the aspects of rejoicing:
“Regarding these days of Adar - they are days of miracles for the people of Israel - specifically, Purim and Pesach.”
Rashi’s clarification (that Adar’s days increase our joy) has been interpreted to mean that Purim and Pesach share a continuous thread of community miracles, redemption and storytelling.
Our class will center on Rashi’s connections and more - helping us frame our preparations for both of these joyous days!
